You are probably not responsible if you took reasonable measures to secure your car. If you left your keys in the ignition, you may be liable since you did not take reasonable precautions to prevent your car from being taken. The fact that you have a police report saying that you reported the car as stolen should be enough to show that you are not liable for this damage.
Not having insurance makes everything more complicated (especially getting and paying for an attorney) but, in general, if you did not assent to the person using your car, you care generally not liable for damages they may do with your car to a third person’s property. This may vary in your state, though. Do you have renter’s insurance or homeowner’s insurance? Since the vehicle was parked on your driveway, perhaps you could present the claim to them?? (Probably a hard sell, but they may at least defend you against this threat suit against the homeowner.)

lets assume the damage to the car was $1,000. because you didn’t have insurance and cannot go through insurance company it now will cost you $2,000……but now you get arrested for no insurance and a lawyer and time in jail instead or working will cost you $4,000. if i drove drunk and ran down a fence i would use the same story you are using. sober up and fess up sonny
