The banks should not be allowed to go after the people for short fall when they repossess a property?

In other countries when banks repossess they have no right to go after anybody for the shortfall. It is a risk they took on by lending against a property. In the UK it is high time the law changed regarding this. The banks are a law unto themselves and this must change. It is obvious the poor buyer is being made to shoulder the carelessness of the bank where the property has been over valued.Even in cases where the property has not been over valued I do not think it is fair for them to be allowed to recoup the shortfall from buyers.

In an effort to avoid foreclosure we decided to short sell our home. The investor who bought the bank loan, placed it in a land trust. He then was selling the home to a buyer (for profit) and thought the transaction was going faster than expected so we needed to move out to accommodate the buyer…we found a rental to move into. Fifty days have since passed, the original transaction has not recorded, and the “proposed” new buyer has been living in the property free from any payments! Had we known it would take this long, we would’ve remained in the property instead of paying $1500 a month to rent. We feel that we are at risk with her being there and the property still being in our name. With that said, can we collect rent from her?

I do not mean property auctions
I mean contacts, websites, associates, friends, family, relatives etc. I am interested in helping people stay in their homes or stop the bank from taking their homes. I am able to buy the property and rent it back to them at a price they can afford and then they can buy it back when there finances are better. I believe in honesty and intergrity and genuinely helping people in these difficult times
