De woon bezitsinvesteerders zijn iedereen wie een huurbezit bezit.
Een ontwikkelaar ontwikkelt zich — bouwt bezit — en verkoopt typisch het bezit aan kopers (zoals eigenaars) en gebruikt het geld om een ander project te ontwikkelen. Als het bezit doesn' t verkoopt of het project doesn' t begint, dan kan de ontwikkelaar het bezit houden tot de markt verbetert of een geschikte investeerder wordt gevonden.
Een investeerder investeert — verstrekt geld — in ruil voor eigendom.
De ontwikkelaars hebben eigendom gewoonlijk op korte termijn tot doel om een bezit te kopen, het te verbeteren, en het te verkopen voor winst (binnen een paar jaar). Een bezitsinvesteerder wil gewoonlijk eigendom kopen en huurwinsten over een lange termijn (decennia) verzamelen.
