What if you can not rent you rental property?

I co own a rental with SO, we are splitting, I need a place to live (rental not an option due to location) dont really want to pay cap gains on sale . was thinking of taking my proceeeds and buying another rental property that I would live in at some point. I know all the tax rules on living in it to convert to primary, are ther any rules that if you cant rent it you can live in it an not pay the cap gain?

Ik denk uw beste weddenschap uw opbrengst van het huidige bezit moet nemen en een ander huurbezit vinden om binnen te leven. Het mede-eigendom van huureigenschappen beëindigt altijd omhoog in een slordige situatie.
Eerder dan om u een specifieke bezitsnaam en een plaats te geven, zou ik voorstellen dat u wat onderzoek naar de beschikbare huizen/de flatgebouwen met koopflats, de prijzen en de plaatsen op uw gebied doet. Ik heb justvr.com in het verleden en het was vrij nuttig voor het versmallen onderaan mijn keuzen en het boeken van het huurhuis gebruikt.
