I would urge you to seek advice on this as some of the sub-prime lenders will repossess your home (or other security very quickly if you can’t maintain payments)
Talk to a good Independent Financial Adviser (make sure they are independent). Through my work I deal with many people who take out loans too hastily and without thought for what would happen if they had a change in circumstances!
Good Luck!

Andy,
Banks are the best places to approach.
Once you go down the road of the provate lenders then you are likely to get stiffed on the APR and you do not know how unscrupulous they maybe if you do default on a payment.
Therefore stick to your high street banks and at least you have certain amount of protection should things not work out.
